Downtown Colorado Springs Gets a New All-Ages Music Hub at Solar Roast Coffee

Free All-Ages Live Music Fridays at Solar Roast Coffee 

Colorado Springs, CO – October 2025 — Friday nights in downtown Colorado Springs just got a lot more exciting. Rocky Mountain Music Society is teaming up with Solar Roast Coffee to launch Live Music Fridays starting this October. A brand-new series of free, all-ages concerts and open mics hosted by our nonprofit that's designed to create a welcoming hangout spot for young people who love music, books, coffee, and community.

For the first time since COVID, Solar Roast will keep its doors open into the evening on Fridays, turning the downtown café into a late-night creative hub. Not only can you catch live music every Friday, but Solar Roast also offers coffee drinks, pastries, café food, new and used vinyl, and a curated selection of books — making it the perfect spot to spend a Friday night without needing alcohol to have fun.

The Schedule

  • 1st & 3rd Fridays – Featured Local & Touring Artists
    Two live acts each night, bringing everything from local favorites to up-and-coming touring musicians.
  • 2nd & 4th Fridays – Open Mic Nights
    A community stage where students, young artists, and performers of all skill levels can get up, share their voices, and connect.

All events are free and open to the public. Music typically runs from 6:30–8:30 PM, with the café open until 9 PM.

Why It Matters

Colorado Springs has plenty of late-night bars, but few alcohol-free venues where younger crowds can gather. Live Music Fridays change that. Whether you’re in high school, college, or just love hanging out around music and creativity, Solar Roast is a safe and fun space for you to gather.

“Live Music Fridays are more than a local show” says Tensas, who's both a local musician and founder of Rocky Mountain Music Society. “It’s about creating a safe, all-ages downtown hangout where music, books, coffee and community come together.”

About the Partners

Solar Roast Coffee has long been a gathering place in Colorado Springs. By extending its hours and offering live entertainment, it’s opening its doors to a new generation of artists, students, and music lovers.

Rocky Mountain Music Society Inc. is a nonprofit dedicated to advocating for, educating, and providing opportunities to both aspiring and working musicians. Live Music Fridays helps put that mission into action while giving young people a positive, creative outlet in downtown Colorado Springs.
